Black Bear Don't Care

from Digital Gods by ODDKO

/

about

This song was composed as an experiment meant to make listeners complicit in its creation. It’s like a game where they start the first part, and the audience can make up the rest--a bit like an Exquisite Corpse, if you will.
And, in that same surrealist tradition, the track is inspired by dreams, with nothing being linear or rational. It is an attempt to get the listener started on a mind-bending journey, something like a dream that can’t be explained or described, but that takes you on a constantly-evolving surreal ride. The intent is that the listeners can take this open-ended journey with the music, and then continue it on their own, letting their imaginations take them on a ride that was unimaginable when the song was written.

lyrics

I can’t breathe, I’m in the mist
Escher is cleaning our toxic heads

It’s insane, I got a broken record
In my head, in my head

I don’t care, I don’t care
I'm a black bear, I'm a black bear

I’m in a washing machine

I don't pray, I don't pray,
I'm a black bear, I'm a black bear

I’m a cat bear, I’m a cat bear, I’m a cat bear

I’m in the fake sky

I can’t breathe, I’m in the mist
I don't pray, I don't pray

It’s insane, I got a broken record
In my head, in my head

Melting sounds of perspectives
I'm a five,
I'm in paradise

I don't pray, I don't pray,
I'm a black bear, I'm a black bear

I'm a five, I'm in paradise
I’m in a washing machine

I don't pray, I don't pray,
I'm a cat bear, I'm a cat bear

I'm a cat bear
I'm a cat bear
I'm a cat bear
